Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers Care For People Facing Tough Times
We all experience challenges in life – times when we could benefit from the support of a caring Christian. Stephen Ministers are trained to provide the emotional and spiritual care we long for when faced with a crisis or difficulty such as:
Loss of a loved one
Illness or hospitalization
Divorce or separation
Loneliness or discouragement
Spiritual crisis
Unemployment or relocation
Aging
Child birth or adoption
Miscarriage or infertility
Accident or disaster recovery
Stephen Ministers Are Lay People In NPC's Congregation
Noroton Presbyterian Church members with gifts for caregiving are carefully selected to serve in this role. Stephen Ministers are:
Lay people who have received 50 hours of training, equipping them to provide emotional
and spiritual one-to-one care.
Caring Christians who listen, care, pray, support and encourage.
Committed people who will be a consistent presence, faithfully meeting for about an hour each week as long as there is a need.
Completely confidential relationships, keeping all identities, concerns and conversations absolutely private.
If you or someone you know could benefit from a Stephen Minister, please contact (complete confidentiality):
